Institute President and CEO Ryan P. Haygood was honored at the 2017 Newark Boys Chorus School Rainbow Gala at the Newark International Marriott Hotel.  

Haygood was honored along with Richard Thigpen, Vice President for State Governmental Affairs, PSE&G Services Corporation;  Robert A. Marino, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey; Damien Atkins, General Counsel, Panasonic Corporation of North America; Jim Papoulis, Composer and Conductor; and Robert C. Garrett, Co-CEO, Hackensack Meridian Health.   

“These honorees have made significant contributions to the Greater Newark community, the State of New Jersey and beyond.  The Newark Boys Chorus School is honored to celebrate their achievements," said Martin Borosko, Chair of the Board of Trustees.  "Each one has also had an important impact on our school."

The internationally renowned Newark Boys Chorus School, located in the heart of Newark, New Jersey, is celebrating 47 years of excellence in academics and music. Educating young men in 4^th through 8^th grades from the Greater Newark community since 1969, NBCS has graduated nearly 600 students.  Upon graduation from NBCS, many attend prep schools in the tri-state area, often on generous scholarships preparing them for college. Alumni of the school come back to tell of their success in careers as lawyers, corporate vice presidents, school administrators, physicians, teachers, and musicians.

The evening, which was attended by more than 250 guests, raised over $400,000 to support the school.
