CAMDEN — President Obama came to this New Jersey city on Monday to "hold you up as a symbol of promise for the nation."

"This city is on to something," Obama said in a speech before almost 300 people at the Salvation Army's Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, which offers programs for recreation, performing arts, early childhood and job training.
