It is hard to express the sense of pride and gratitude we felt at our Gala on June 13 when we looked around the room at a sea of faces who support our work and inspire us every day.

It was a privilege to honor social justice leaders like Senator Cory Booker (National Social Justice Award), Nina and Ted Wells (Alan V. and Amy Lowenstein Social Justice Award), and our corporate partners (Corporate Leadership Award). Their acceptance speeches were tremendous, and we thank them for all they do.

We chose the “fierce urgency of now” as our 14th Gala theme because we are, indeed, living in urgent times that require us to respond boldly right here in New Jersey. Whether it’s through our economic opportunity work, criminal justice reform initiative, or civil engagement work , we are doing just that – and fighting to give voice to those who have been impacted by systemic racism and inequality.

As we bask in the glow of a 20th anniversary well-celebrated, we recommit to the urgent work ahead with you by our side, and we thank you for all your support.
