Join the Institute for our 15th Annual Gala – virtual, free and open to all!
In his last book, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stated that “[w]e are confronted with the urgency of now. This may well be mankind’s last chance to choose between chaos or community.”
As we confront one of the most chaotic times in recent history, we are once again faced with this stark choice.
We choose Community over Chaos, and have made that the theme of our upcoming gala.
At this powerful event, we will honor the contributions of five Black women who dedicate their lives to moving us toward community, including Nikole Hannah-Jones, the Pulitzer Prize winning creator of the New York Times 1619 Project. Other Honorees are Shané Harris (The Prudential Foundation); Michellene Davis (RWJBarnabas Health); Claudia Curtis (Becton, Dickinson & Company); and Marcia Brown (Rutgers University-Newark).
HOW TO JOIN: You can watch our virtual Gala live on Nov. 10 at 6 pm at njisj.org/gala2020 or on https://www.facebook.com/NJISJ. URLs].
