Can I register to vote if I have a felony conviction?

Yes, but only if you have completed your entire sentence, including parole and probation. You must re-register even if you were registered prior to conviction. Individuals detained in jail awaiting trial or serving time for a misdemeanor are eligible to register and vote by Mail-In Ballot. If you are unable to vote because of a felony conviction please contact the Institute Communications Director Elizabeth Weill-Greenberg at ewgreenberg@njisj.org.
